Davao City’s Kadayawan Festival is not only consist of a mere street dancing or a conventional street parade. There are a number of tribal festivities and events and one of them is the ever popular Floral Float Parade. I think it is about time to rename this into “The Orchid Float Parade” because of its shift from typical flowers to almost 90% orchids as its float’s main material as year passed by. Hmmm….if the US got the Pasadena’s Parade of Roses, then I’m pretty sure that this event will eventually transform into – Davao’s Parade of Orchids. Who knows? Maybe in a year or two. But for now, Im still contented and amazed by Kadayawan’s Floral Float Parade.
It really is a must see. The Kadayawan’s Floral Float Parade is one of the Kadayawan Festival’s highlights. It is being held on a Sunday – the finale of the Kadayawan Festival. Thousands normally flock the streets as this parade has never failed to leave the spectators dropped their jaws.
Below are some of the snapshots of Kadayawan’s Floral Float Parade from flickr.com.
